Grant Barratt-Thompson & Mary Paterson

Grant Barratt-Thompson and Mary Paterson both started dancing at the age of five and have fifty years dancing experience between them. They were both very successful from young ages with Grant being the Australian Open Juvenile Champion in all three styles for three years running and Mary winning the Juvenile International Ballroom Championships at the age of 11.

Grant and Mary started dancing together after a tryout in 2002 and moved to London to improve their dancing and work with some of the most renowned coaches in the world.

After living there for about three years their first great achievement was winning the International Professional Rising Star Championships and then going on to many more great accolades such as being the winners of the Closed British for two years running, European Finalists in Euro Disney - France, Ranked 8th in the World Championships in Bonn - Germany, International Professional Open Semi Finalists at the Royal Albert Hall in London, British Open Professional Semi Finalists in Blackpool, England and three times undefeated Australian Open Professional Ballroom Champions.

Grant and Mary have now moved back to Australia after residing in London for a total of eight years and have recently become engaged. They are currently teaching at Inspirations Dance Centre as one of our elite competitive ballroom dancing coaches and are considered one of our best coaches in Australia.
